KINGSTON, R.I. -- The 11th Annual Fast Break Club Legends Golf Tournament was held on Monday, June 23 at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, R.I.

Former Rams great Steve Chubin was the Ram Legend honored at this year's golf outing. A native of Forest Hills, N.Y., Chubin finished his Rhody career with 1,751 points - currently fifth all-time on the school's career scoring list. He averaged 21.8 points per game in his 80 game career, the third-best scoring average in school history.

Former Ram standout and current radio announcer Don Kaull introduced his former teammate.

"The University of Rhode Island is the greatest place in the world," Chubin said in his remarks at the post-golf dinner. "I am forever grateful to all the great friends and people I've met there."

Thirty-two foursomes teed it up in one of the major fundraisers for the men's basketball program and student-athletes.

"Year after year, our dedicated supporters come out to this outstanding golf outing to help the URI men's basketball program grow and grow," head coach Jim Baron said. "We are extremely grateful for everyone's tremendous support."
